THE MAKER’S TALE
My name is Ellie Hylland, and I am currently studying at the Chippendale International School of Furniture Design in Gifford, Scotland. I was born and raised in Portland, Oregon, surrounded by wooded landscapes and inspired by everything around me. Growing up, I was encouraged to believe that I could create anything I set my mind to. I spent the past year and a half working in design before fully committing to my woodworking journey. As a lifelong “master dabbler,” I’ve been exposed to—and deeply inspired by—a wide range of aesthetics and design influences. My goal is to blend these inspirations and curate uniquely recognizable furniture pieces.
